☆fanlistings
According to tfl.org, "A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans."
☆anise and jade
Anise Tatlin is a 13 year old guard of the leader of the "Order of Lorelei," Ion. Hailing from the city of Daath, Anise
gets caught up in the events of Tales of the Abyss after assisting Ion in delivering a Peace Treaty proposal between two rival
empires. Anise likes to come off as a sweet, adorable little girl, but underneath the giggly and silly exterior she's a powerful fighter and harbors an
intense love of money. She fights with magic artes and a stuffed doll, Tokunaga, which can change size under her control.
Jade Curtiss is a Colonel of the Malkuth empire and a close friend of its ruler, Peony. The oldest member of the
game's party (35 = ancient in RPG years), Jade serves as a voice of reason, though that role is usually undermined by his tendency to cheerfully
make snide or sarcastic remarks at every opportunity. This leads people to think he is apathetic and uncaring, though it becomes apparent that
he develops a friendship with his companions. But beyond his disturbingly cheerful nature, Jade hides a mysterious past and a reputation among soldiers
as "the Necromancer." Jade wields a spear in battle and is a master of Fonic Artes.
Together Anise and Jade form an unlikely friendship, but a pretty kickass one at that.
By themselves, they enjoy teasing the other party members, but together they're an unbeatable comedy team. From teaming up
to torture poor gynophobic Guy (by means of the infamous "coochie coochie coochie!") to tormenting the usually clueless hero, Luke, Anise
and Jade are responsible for the most amusing moments in the game. To go further, the two have an awkward faith in each other; Jade trusts in
Anise's abilities and Anise actually looks up to the man known as the Necromancer. In battle, they're a powerful team.
☆why?
I love both Anise and Jade as characters, and I really like the bond they have. While Jade isn't one to admit anything, it becomes clear that he
thinks highly of Anise, and she even admires him. They have a lot in common, from being sly and clever to being ruthless in battle. And of course, they're
hilarious together. I'm not one to fangirl relationships, let alone ones that I see as platonic, but I've become a huge fan of the relationship between these two.
So hey, why not make a fanlisting? The name of this site, Scherzando, comes from the musical aspects of Tales of the Abyss. The game
itself draws many of its names from musical terms, such as the names of the C.Cores and Order of Lorelei ranks.
"Scherzando" is a term meaning to play something in a "playful" or "lively" manner. Which certainly describes Anise and Jade's cheerful and
mischievous nature, if I do say so myself.
